R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Juan Carlos Estrada of Rockdale has been |
|
|
participating in the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership |
|
|
Program, and during the 83rd Legislative Session, he has ably |
|
|
served his fellow Texans; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |
|
|
Leadership Foundation, this program offers outstanding university |
|
|
students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time |
|
|
policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American |
|
|
Legislative Caucus and to gain experience working with the Texas |
|
|
Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Enrolled at The University of Texas at San Antonio, |
|
|
Mr. Estrada is majoring in political science and minoring in legal |
|
|
studies; he is active in a number of civic organizations, including |
|
|
the Young Democrats, the Hispanic Students Association, and the Phi |
|
|
Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, and he serves as the assistant |
|
|
director of the UTSA San Antonio Immigration Youth Movement; the |
|
|
son of proud parents Juan and Sanjuana Estrada, he plans to pursue |
|
|
his juris doctorate in international law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol, |
|
|
Juan Estrada has rendered valuable assistance, while acquiring |
|
|
knowledge of issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; he has |
|
|
performed his duties as a legislative aide with skill, |
|
|
perseverance, and dedication, and he may indeed look forward to a |
|
|
rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Juan Carlos Estrada as a participant in |
|
|
the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend |
|
|
him for his notable contributions to the legislative process; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Estrada as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
