R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Arlington Independent School District Board of
  Trustees has named the new elementary school in honor of longtime
  educators James and Barbara Adams; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams have an impressive record of
  service with AISD; James Adams was employed by the district as a
  teacher, counselor, and administrator before being named Arlington
  High School principal, a post he held for many years, and Barbara
  Adams was a respected and dedicated sixth-grade language arts
  teacher at Hill Elementary; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams retired after 38 years devoted to
  Arlington students; today, the couple's two daughters, Melissa
  Nicholson and Jennifer Webb, carry on their proud AISD tradition
  and are both elementary school teachers in the district; and
         WHEREAS, The work of James and Barbara Adams made a positive
  difference in the community they call home, and the school that
  bears their name will ensure that their contributions will be
  remembered and honored by future generations; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the naming of James and Barbara
  Adams Elementary School in Arlington and commend these notable
  Texans for their exemplary careers in education; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Adams as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
