R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The boys' track and field team from Crawford High
  School won the District 15-2A championship with an exceptional
  performance at the district meet on April 10, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, In outpacing its closest rival by 20 points to claim
  the title, the Pirates benefited from a number of outstanding
  efforts; the team swept both hurdle events, with Hunter Vansau
  claiming victory in the 110-meter event, followed by teammates
  Colten Claxton and Tyler Smith in second and third, while Matt Brown
  won the 300-meter hurdles, as Mr. Vansau and Mr. Claxton finished in
  the next two spots; and
         WHEREAS, The Pirate relay teams dominated the opposition,
  with Braden Murphy, Brody Jones, Weldon Bleything, and Colton
  Adamick besting the field in the 800, and Chad Snowden, Olin Moody,
  Mr. Vansau, and Mr. Adamick triumphing at 1,600 meters; the speedy
  Mr. Adamick also scored a first-place finish in the 200-meter race,
  and Mr. Moody took the top spot in the 800-meter contest; and
         WHEREAS, Also distinguishing themselves during the meet were
  Colton Shaw, who placed third at 1,600 meters, and Wyatt Griffith,
  who finished third in the high jump; and
         WHEREAS, The dedicated and talented members of the Pirates
  track and field team accomplished an important goal with their
  victory over their district rivals, and their achievement is a
  source of pride to their classmates and their many supporters in the
  local community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the boys' track and field team of
  Crawford High School on winning the District 15-2A championship and
  extend to the athletes and coaches sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
