R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Agnes Pauline Alexander, who passed away on April 4, 2013, at the
  age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Fisher, Louisiana, the former Agnes
  Grisham was born on January 14, 1919, to William Tolbert "Pete"
  Grisham and Mary Velma Winham Grisham; the family moved to
  Livingston, and she attended high school there; and
         WHEREAS, On May 16, 1936, she exchanged the vows of matrimony
  with Arnold F. Alexander; the newlyweds established their own
  business, Alexander BBQ, which they jointly owned and operated
  until retiring in 1985; they enjoyed more than 50 rewarding years
  together before Mr. Alexander's passing in 1989, and their lives
  were further enriched by the addition of three children, Becky,
  Peggy, and Arnie; over time, their family also grew to include a
  number of treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
  great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by a deep faith, Mrs. Alexander was a
  longtime congregant of First Baptist Church of Livingston, where
  she shared her gifts as a pianist and organist; she delighted in her
  role as a mother and grandmother and was blessed with a close-knit
  circle of friends, who always found in her a trusted and thoughtful
  companion; and
         WHEREAS, Agnes Alexander lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and all those who were fortunate to share in her love and affection
  will forever hold her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Agnes Pauline
  Alexander and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her children, Becky Stotts and her husband, T. H., Peggy
  Meredith, and Arnie Alexander and his wife, Ginger; to her
  grandchildren, Connie Nagy and her husband, John, Kevin Stotts, and
  Troy Meredith; to her great-grandchildren, Amber Johnson and her
  husband, Clint, Ashley Nagy, and Jacob Nagy; to her
  great-great-grandchildren, Natalie and Riley Auld; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Agnes
  Pauline Alexander.
