R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Honorable Jesus Everardo Villarreal Salinas,
  mayor of the city of Reynosa in Tamaulipas, Mexico, is visiting the
  State Capitol on May 15, 2013, to support the efforts of the Mexican
  American Legislative Caucus; and
         WHEREAS, Elected in 2011, Mayor Villarreal Salinas has worked
  diligently to make his thriving community an even better place in
  which to live and work; he previously served the city as secretary
  of social development and as director of youth services; a member of
  the PRI, one of Mexico's main political parties, he has served in
  both the Tamaulipas and the national legislatures; his many
  leadership roles have included secretary of the national Energy
  Commission and of the state Youth Commission; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Villarreal Salinas was born in Reynosa in
  1978; he earned his law degree from the University of Monterrey and
  previously served as director of ecological services for Grupo
  Industrial VIDA, S.A. de C.V.; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the
  love and encouragement of his wife, Yanira Deandar Ayala; the
  couple are the proud parents of two children, Arturo and Regina
  Villarreal Deandar; and
         WHEREAS, Through his skill, vision, and dedication, Mayor
  Villarreal Salinas is greatly benefiting the citizens of Reynosa,
  and he has demonstrated exceptional generosity in traveling to
  Austin to share his knowledge and experience with the Mexican
  American Legislative Caucus; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby welcome the Honorable Jesus Everardo Villarreal
  Salinas to the State Capitol and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for an enjoyable and productive visit to Texas; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Villarreal Salinas as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
