R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Locally owned businesses contribute greatly to the
  prosperity of Texas towns and cities, and Chico's Tacos is
  celebrating 60 years of serving the El Paso community in 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Chico's Tacos was opened on July 4, 1953, by boxing
  promoter Joe Mora; the Alameda Avenue eatery has earned a dedicated
  clientele through the years, and today, each of the restaurant's
  five locations continues to draw crowds thanks to the reasonably
  priced menu and renowned signature sauce; and
         WHEREAS, An El Paso institution, Chico's is regularly voted a
  favorite in the What's Up magazine readers poll; also evidence of
  the special place it holds in the hearts of locals is the tale of a
  former resident who, after waking from a coma, requested tacos from
  Chico's for her first meal; and
         WHEREAS, As Chico's Tacos celebrates six decades of
  operation, it is indeed a pleasure to honor it for its outstanding
  record of success; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 60th anniversary of Chico's
  Tacos in El Paso and extend to all those associated with the
  restaurant sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chico's Tacos as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
