R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of Carli Grace Simmons of Burkeville, who passed away on
  April 26, 2013, at the age of three; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Valerie and Bradley Simmons, Carli
  was born on December 8, 2009, in DeRidder, Louisiana, and she
  brought great happiness to her parents, her brother "Co-Co," her
  grandparents, Paw-Paw and Maw-Maw and Grampy and Grammy, and all
  those around her; and
         WHEREAS, Carli was diagnosed with a brain tumor before she
  turned two, and, motivated by their experiences at Texas Children's
  Hospital, her parents established Carli's Butterfly
  W.I.S.H.E.S. Foundation; this nonprofit organization works to meet
  the needs of families with loved ones in the Progressive Care Unit
  of the hospital by providing toys for the children and meals for the
  families; and
         WHEREAS, Although her time on this earth was far too brief,
  Carli Grace inspired countless others with her beautiful smile and
  contagious laugh, and the foundation that carries her name will
  continue to bring comfort into the lives of others facing the
  struggle of a prolonged stay at the hospital; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carli Grace Simmons
  and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  parents, Valerie and Bradley Simmons; to her brother, Cody "Co-Co"
  Simmons; to her grandparents, David and Nancy Bishop and James and
  Joy Hutton; to her great-grandparents, Raymond and Etta Simmons; to
  her great-grandfather, Merton Smith; to her aunts, Brenda Addison,
  Laurie Greer, and Sierra Hutton; to her uncles, Brenton Hutton and
  Nathan Hutton; to her cousins, Nolan and Erin Greer; and to her
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carli
  Simmons.
