R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Cross Roads High School student Brandon Davis has
  been named a recipient of a Luminant Power Track Scholarship; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Luminant power generation company,
  the program recognizes distinguished high school seniors who are
  interested in a career in power plant or mining operations; each
  recipient is provided with funding to pursue an associate's degree
  as well as the opportunity to gain invaluable experience though a
  paid internship with Luminant; and
         WHEREAS, The Power Track Scholarship, which covers tuition
  and books, allows students to choose one of four degree paths at
  three partner colleges: power plant technology at Tyler Junior
  College, mechanical technology or instrumentation and control at
  Texas State Technical College in Waco, or electrical technology at
  Panola College in Carthage; and
         WHEREAS, Selected from nearly 300 applicants, Brandon Davis
  joins 30 other outstanding students in the company's third
  scholarship class, and he will begin his college studies in the fall
  of 2013; and
         WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has worked toward his
  goals with great diligence and resolve, and he may reflect with
  pride on his accomplishments as he looks forward to a future bright
  with promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon Davis on his receipt of a
  Luminant Power Track Scholarship and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
