R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Murel Stapleton of Livingston, who passed away on April 24, 2013, |
|
at the age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, Murel Stapleton was born in Columbia, Louisiana, on |
|
September 21, 1940, to Harvey Lee and Katie Lee Wilson Stapleton; he |
|
was one of six sons and grew up with the companionship of his |
|
brothers, Harvey, Roy, Johnny, Luther, and James; and |
|
WHEREAS, "Cowboy" Stapleton took pleasure in spending time |
|
with his loved ones and was especially delighted to have the |
|
opportunity to meet his only great-grandchild, Lisa Marie; and |
|
WHEREAS, Cowboy Stapleton possessed a generosity of spirit |
|
that expressed itself in myriad ways, and he brightened countless |
|
lives during his years on this earth; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Murel "Cowboy" |
|
Stapleton and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: |
|
to his son, Kenneth Stapleton; to his daughters, Cindy Woodward and |
|
her husband, Jeff, and Sandra Jean Buck and her husband, David; to |
|
his grandchildren, Keyla, Marie, and Jeffrey Murel Woodward and |
|
Katie Jean and Whitnee St. Andry; to his great-granddaughter, Lisa |
|
Marie Burke; to his brothers, Johnny, Luther Ray, and James |
|
Stapleton; to his uncle, Buckshot Stapleton; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Murel |
|
Stapleton. |
