R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Catherine Davis Carter of Jasper, who passed away on April 17,
  2013, at the age of 79; and
         WHEREAS, The former Catherine Davis was born in Jasper to
  George and Ollie Mae Davis and grew up with seven brothers and a
  sister; a graduate of Jasper High School, she owned and managed her
  own business, Carter's Children Store, for many years; and
         WHEREAS, She married James Earl Carter, and the couple were
  blessed with a son, James Arthur; devoted to her home and family,
  Mrs. Carter delighted in hosting gatherings and special events; in
  addition to cooking delicious meals for her friends and loved ones,
  she enjoyed gardening, canning her home-grown produce, and reading;
  and
         WHEREAS, Catherine Carter brightened the lives of many with
  her warmth and generosity, and those who were privileged to share in
  her love and friendship will forever hold her close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Catherine Davis
  Carter and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her son, James Carter; to her brothers, Sammy, Sherman, Billie,
  Arthur, and Rex Davis; to her grandchildren, Jennifer Fisher,
  Jeffery Carter, Nicole Strelsky, and Detoma Carter; to her
  great-grandchildren, Hunter and Kallee Carter, Finley and Hodgin
  Fisher, and Carter Strelsky; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Catherine
  Carter.
