R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Hannah Lenamon of McGregor, a student at Texas Tech |
|
|
University, has been inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is America's oldest |
|
|
and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic |
|
|
disciplines; membership in the society requires an invitation, |
|
|
nomination, and approval by a collegiate chapter, and only |
|
|
outstanding juniors and seniors who rank in the top 7.5 or 10 |
|
|
percent of their classes, respectively, may be admitted; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Lenamon was the valedictorian of the McGregor |
|
|
High School Class of 2011, and her class ranking and high test |
|
|
scores secured her a Texas Tech Presidential Scholarship; the |
|
|
daughter of proud parents Michelle and James Lenamon, she is |
|
|
pursuing a degree in chemistry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated perseverance |
|
|
and a strong commitment to excellence in her educational endeavors, |
|
|
and she may indeed look with anticipation toward a bright and |
|
|
promising future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Hannah Lenamon on her induction |
|
|
into Phi Kappa Phi and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Lenamon as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
