R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Joel Jimenez has been presented with the Spirit of |
|
|
America Medal by the Good Soldier Foundation at a ceremony at |
|
|
Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and the |
|
|
recipient of a Purple Heart, Mr. Jimenez has run a van service for |
|
|
13,000 fellow veterans for the past 10 years, providing |
|
|
transportation to appointments at a Veterans Administration |
|
|
hospital; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Jimenez has conducted veterans |
|
|
fairs that have provided 2,000 veterans and their families with |
|
|
information about the benefits and services that are available to |
|
|
them; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By assisting his former comrades-in-arms who have |
|
|
sacrificed for our nation, Joel Jimenez is ensuring that these |
|
|
brave men and women receive the assistance and appreciation they so |
|
|
richly deserve; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joel Jimenez on his receipt of the |
|
|
Spirit of America Medal from the Good Soldier Foundation and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jimenez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
