R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
death of Rogers Herndon Marsh, Sr., of Mineola, who passed away on |
|
April 1, 2013, at the age of 85; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Leggett on May 19, 1927, Rogers Marsh was the |
|
son of Manton and Ruth Marsh; he answered his nation's call to duty |
|
with valiant service in the Korean War, and after returning home, he |
|
had a long career as a manager with Southwestern Bell Telephone |
|
before retiring in 1981; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Marsh enjoyed the love and |
|
support of his wife, Helen, with whom he shared more than six |
|
decades of marriage; over time, their treasured family grew to |
|
include a son, two daughters and their spouses, and three |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rogers Marsh enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Rogers Herndon |
|
Marsh, Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Helen; to his son, Rogers Marsh, Jr.; to his |
|
daughters, Susie Carraway and her husband, Harvey, and Kathy Nail |
|
and her husband, Mike; to his grandchildren; to his three brothers |
|
and four sisters; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rogers |
|
Marsh, Sr. |
