R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mae |
|
Hutto Rhodes Gibbs of Fred, who passed away on April 18, 2013, at |
|
the age of 75; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gibbs, a lifelong resident of Fred, was born to |
|
Amos and Annie Hutto on June 13, 1937; before her retirement, she |
|
worked as a secretary at Fred Elementary School, and her deep |
|
devotion to the students there was rewarded with their lasting |
|
affection; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mae Gibbs was predeceased by her first husband, |
|
James Ray Rhodes; fortunate to find love a second time, she later |
|
exchanged wedding vows with Jack Gibbs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, memories of this |
|
beloved woman will be forever treasured by those who were fortunate |
|
enough to share in the richness of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mae Hutto Rhodes |
|
Gibbs and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to |
|
her husband, Jack Gibbs; to her children, Randy Rhodes and his wife, |
|
Brenda, Bonnie Taylor, and Barbara Rhodes; to her stepchildren, |
|
Steve Gibbs and his wife, Rhonda, Kent Gibbs, Cathy Brenner and her |
|
husband, Bill, and Stacey Phillips; to her sisters, Oneta Harris |
|
and her husband, Thomas, and Ruby Stewart; to her 8 grandchildren |
|
and 14 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mae Hutto |
|
Rhodes Gibbs. |
