R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of David |
|
Raymond Peters of Richardson, who passed away on April 1, 2013, at |
|
the age of 60; and |
|
WHEREAS, Raised in Kansas, David Peters earned a bachelor's |
|
degree in history and a master's degree in counselor education from |
|
Emporia State University; he later served as associate dean of |
|
students at Otterbein University in Columbus, Ohio; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Peters eventually made his home in Texas, where |
|
he worked in the insurance industry for a quarter of a century; |
|
dedicated to improving his community, he served as chair of the |
|
board of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce in 1998, and for his |
|
contributions, he received a lifetime membership in that |
|
organization; a man of faith and always looking to help others, he |
|
volunteered with the employment transition ministry and the senior |
|
youth group at First United Methodist Church of Richardson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Above all, Mr. Peters cherished his two daughters, |
|
Erica and Brooke; and |
|
WHEREAS, While the death of David Peters has brought great |
|
sadness to his loved ones, he leaves behind a legacy that will |
|
forever be treasured by all those who shared in the blessing of his |
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of David Raymond |
|
Peters and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to |
|
his daughters, Erica and Brooke; to his sister, Susan; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David |
|
Peters. |
