R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The citizens of Polk County lost a dedicated public |
|
servant with the passing of C. A. Swilley, Sr., of New Willard on |
|
April 8, 2013, at the age of 68; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on March 3, 1945, to E. S. and Melissa Swilley |
|
in Livingston, C. A. Swilley answered his nation's call to duty as a |
|
young man with service in the U.S. Army; following his discharge, he |
|
embarked on a career in law enforcement that would span more than |
|
three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Swilley was a veteran member of the Polk County |
|
Sheriff's Department, having served the area with distinction for |
|
24 years before his retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, C. A. Swilley contributed greatly to the safety and |
|
well-being of his fellow citizens over the course of his career, and |
|
he leaves behind a record of achievement that his loved ones can |
|
remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of C. A. Swilley, Sr., |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Donna Swilley; to his sons, Tony Swilley, Patrick Swilley and |
|
his wife, Sarah, Sammy Wright and his wife, Michele, and Shannon |
|
Wise and his wife, Angela; to his daughters, Racquel Price and her |
|
husband, Eric, Cara Swilley and her husband, Jerry Fender, and Cala |
|
Swilley; to his sister, Suzanne Swilley; to his grandchildren, Gus, |
|
Jonathan, Patrick, Garrett, and Shelbie Swilley, Robert Tate, |
|
Ashley Acosta, Tyler and Kaelynn Wright, Carol and John Slack, |
|
Samantha and Faith Wise, Alex, Tori, and Sarah Price, Kyle Fender, |
|
and Bobby and Makayla Ryans; to his great-grandchild, Ivy Acosta; |
|
to his nephews, Terry Liner and Eugene Dent; to his niece, Kim |
|
Schoppe; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of C. A. |
|
Swilley. |
