R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Evadale lost a longtime resident and |
|
|
friend to many with the death of Lenore Joyce Harris on April 5, |
|
|
2013, at the age of 83; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joyce Stewart was born to Ruby and Roy Stewart on |
|
|
December 11, 1929, in Center; she spent many happy years with her |
|
|
husband, Roy "Jack" Harris, and the couple had two children, David |
|
|
and Lyn; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Harris was a teacher with the Evadale |
|
|
Independent School District for 36 years; moreover, she was a |
|
|
member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honorary society for |
|
|
women educators; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Joyce Harris |
|
|
will remember the way she touched their lives with her kind and |
|
|
caring ways, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their |
|
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lenore Joyce Harris |
|
|
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
daughter, Lyn Terry, and her husband, Jim; to her grandsons, Joshua |
|
|
Terry and his wife, Brittany, and Jordan Terry; to her |
|
|
great-granddaughter, Kinsley Lynn Terry; and to her other relatives |
|
|
and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joyce |
|
|
Harris. |
