R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Lloyd D. Beasley of Jasper, who made a meaningful |
|
|
difference in the lives of countless people, passed away on April |
|
|
12, 2013, at the age of 83; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lloyd Beasley was a native of Post and a former |
|
|
resident of San Benito, and for the last 19 years, he made his home |
|
|
in Jasper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of strong religious beliefs, he left a career |
|
|
with Shell Oil Company to devote himself to serving young people in |
|
|
need; he and his wife, Lela, worked together at Sunny Glen |
|
|
Children's Home, Cherokee Home for Children, and Central Texas |
|
|
Children's Home, and he drew on his own experience of losing his |
|
|
father at an early age to connect with the residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Though it is impossible to gauge the full effect of a |
|
|
man's life, some individuals leave their unmistakable mark on the |
|
|
world as they move through it, and Lloyd Beasley's contributions to |
|
|
the greater good will continue to resonate for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lloyd D. Beasley |
|
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
sons, Louis Beasley and his wife, Lisa, and Sam Beasley and his |
|
|
wife, Carol; to his daughters, Edie Hendrickson and her husband, |
|
|
Mike, and Dottie Vinzant and her husband, James; to his brother, Sam |
|
|
Don Beasley, and his wife, Jeanie; to his sisters, Linda Speights |
|
|
and her husband, Doug, and Thelma Powell; to his 8 grandchildren and |
|
|
15 great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lloyd |
|
|
Beasley. |
