R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Corporal Brian Hoskins was named the 2013 Police |
|
|
Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Angleton, and he is |
|
|
being honored at a special event held on May 28, 2013, at Angleton |
|
|
City Hall; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Hired as a patrol officer in 2004, Corporal Hoskins |
|
|
worked in the patrol division until 2009 when he joined the |
|
|
investigation division and trained with the Brazoria County |
|
|
Narcotics Task Force; he became a full-time member of the task force |
|
|
in 2011, serving with personnel from other city and county offices |
|
|
as well as from the Department of Public Safety, the Drug |
|
|
Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Corporal Hoskins has been involved in a number of |
|
|
cases and arrests related to gambling, money laundering, illegal |
|
|
investments, and drug production, and his successful |
|
|
investigations have resulted in major disruptions of the drug trade |
|
|
in the region; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the law enforcement profession willingly |
|
|
place themselves in harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and |
|
|
property of the citizens of this state, and through his hard work |
|
|
and dedication, Corporal Hoskins has proven himself most worthy of |
|
|
special recognition and commendation; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Corporal Brian Hoskins on his |
|
|
selection as the Exchange Club of Angleton 2013 Police Officer of |
|
|
the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Corporal Hoskins as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
