R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends mourn the loss of Gwendolyn Swann
  of Dallas, who passed away on March 30, 2013, at the age of 63; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in Dallas, Ms. Swann was involved in
  a number of local organizations; she was a member of the National
  Council of Negro Women, the Elks Lodge, and the Creekside Community
  Neighborhood Watch; in addition, she served as a Democratic
  precinct chair in Dallas County and as a poll worker, volunteered at
  the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, and founded the
  Parent Center at Kimball High School; she was retired from the
  Fireman's Fund Insurance Company; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Swann nurtured a fine family that included four
  children, Sherry, Sharon, Clyde, and Casey, and with the passing
  years, her family grew to include six grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Gwendolyn Swann treasured the time she spent in the
  company of her friends and loved ones, and those she leaves behind
  will in turn cherish their memories of this kind and caring woman;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gwendolyn Swann and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  children, Sherry Johnson, Sharon and Casey Swann, and Clyde Swann,
  Jr.; to her brothers, Kenneth and A. D. Easley; to her grandchildren
  and great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gwendolyn
  Swann.
