R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, After more than 33 years of outstanding employment
  with the state, Ronald C. Sassen is retiring as chief accounting
  officer of the Texas Workforce Commission on May 31, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Beginning his career with the State Auditor's Office
  in 1979, Mr. Sassen served there for nearly 18 years before joining
  the Texas Workforce Commission in 1997; a certified public
  accountant and certified information systems auditor, he has
  developed solutions to accounting and reporting challenges,
  improved statewide practices, and mentored other staff members; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sassen is the loving husband of Sally Sassen and
  the father of two treasured sons, David and Jeff; in his spare time,
  he enjoys bird-watching, photography, movies, wine-making,
  cycling, and weather watching, and he looks forward to traveling
  with his wife after retirement; and
         WHEREAS, Ronald Sassen has distinguished himself with his
  professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence, and his
  accomplishments have benefited many in the Lone Star State; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ronald Sassen on his retirement as
  chief accounting officer of the Texas Workforce Commission and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Sassen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
