R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Michael O'Connor Simpson is graduating on May 18, |
|
2013, from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The |
|
University of Texas at Austin; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to completing this prestigious program, |
|
Mr. Simpson currently serves as a legislative intern for State |
|
Representative Ruth Jones McClendon, and his previous experience as |
|
a policy intern for the City of Dallas and as a government relations |
|
aide at Brinker International has made him a valuable asset on her |
|
staff; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Simpson, a graduate of The School for the |
|
Talented and Gifted in Dallas, earned his bachelor's degree in |
|
history from Stanford University in 2009 and plans to pursue a |
|
career in government and public policy; he is the son of proud |
|
parents Lee Simpson and Sheila Ann O'Connor, who will be |
|
celebrating the receipt of his MPA on a family trip to Ireland this |
|
summer that will also include the honoree's brother and best |
|
friend, Thomas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await Michael |
|
Simpson, and it is a pleasure to join his friends and many loved |
|
ones in honoring him as he embarks on a future bright with promise; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael O'Connor Simpson on his |
|
graduation from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at |
|
The University of Texas at Austin and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success and happiness in the years to come; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Simpson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
