R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the 29th Annual Class of Leadership |
|
|
Plainview are visiting the State Capitol on May 23 and 24, 2013, in |
|
|
order to gain further insight into and a deeper appreciation of the |
|
|
inner workings of their state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The group represents not only the leadership of the |
|
|
City of Plainview but also a program that, 29 years after its |
|
|
founding, continues to make a positive difference in the lives of |
|
|
area Texans; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leadership Plainview provides residents from all |
|
|
walks of life with opportunities to increase their knowledge of |
|
|
public issues and to visit with local and state leaders who are |
|
|
making decisions that affect their community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and |
|
|
involved citizenry and to develop the leadership potential of its |
|
|
participants, this exceptional initiative is helping to create a |
|
|
brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize May 23, 2013, as Leadership Plainview |
|
|
Day at the State Capitol and extend to the members of the 2013 class |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success in the years ahead; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
