R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Robert Duane Oakes of Yantis on April 27, 2013, at the
  age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Oakes was born on March 22, 1941, in Wichita,
  Kansas, to Ruth and Emzy Oakes; an electrical engineer, he worked
  primarily on classified military programs and enjoyed a successful
  career with Texas Instruments, E-Systems, and Raytheon; he was a
  valued member of the Church of St. Dunstan in Mineola; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan found a life partner in his
  wife, Lynn, and he took great pride in their six children, Randy,
  Robin, Russi, Kyle, Jeff, and Debbie; over the passing years, he
  delighted in welcoming into his family 12 grandchildren and a
  great-granddaughter; and
         WHEREAS, Bob Oakes treasured the time he spent in the company
  of his family and friends, and those he leaves behind will in turn
  cherish their memories of this kind and caring man; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert Duane Oakes
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Lynn Oakes; to his children, Randy Oakes and his wife, Maria,
  Robin Seely and her husband, Jack, Russi Oakes, Kyle Jensen and his
  wife, Midori, Jeff Jensen and his wife, Paula, and Debbie Jensen; to
  his grandchildren, Stephen and his wife, Sharisse, Emily, Nathan,
  Anna, Noah, Zachary, Chase, Kensei, Kazke, Keiro, Max, and McKenna;
  to his great-granddaughter, Hallie; to his siblings, Ron Oakes and
  his wife, Shirley, Cheryl Paul and her husband, Jimmy, and Janet
  Norris; to his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mitch Mitchell and his
  wife, Russie, and John T. Ragsdale and his wife, Belinda; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
  Duane Oakes.
