R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Shelby Lacey is graduating as the salutatorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2013 at Glen Rose High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
|
Lacey demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours she has devoted to |
|
|
her studies are myriad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her classroom endeavors, Ms. Lacey |
|
|
has been a member of the National Honor Society as well as the |
|
|
varsity tennis, varsity cheer, volleyball, and track teams, and she |
|
|
regularly volunteers at a local nursing home; after graduation, she |
|
|
plans on earning a degree in biology with a minor in genetics with |
|
|
the goal of one day attending medical school and pursuing a career |
|
|
in neurological research; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Kent and Janelle |
|
|
Lacey, Ms. Lacey has earned the respect and admiration of her |
|
|
teachers and classmates at Glen Rose High, and her exceptional |
|
|
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have |
|
|
opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young |
|
|
Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Shelby Lacey, salutatorian of the |
|
|
Glen Rose High School Class of 2013, and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success as she begins the next exciting |
|
|
chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Lacey as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
