R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Thomas Ray-Daniel Frier is graduating as the |
|
salutatorian of the senior class of Oglesby High School on May 30, |
|
2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, |
|
Mr. Frier demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours he has devoted to |
|
his studies are myriad; an honor roll student, he has participated |
|
in the University Interscholastic League Mathematics Contest and |
|
took honors English courses; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Kevin and Jennifer Frier, |
|
Mr. Frier has further distinguished himself through his many |
|
athletic endeavors, including football, basketball, track, tennis, |
|
golf, and cross-country; moreover, he has displayed notable |
|
leadership skills as a member of the student council, 4-H, and the |
|
FFA; this dynamic young man has also volunteered his time with food |
|
donations, blood drives, and trash pickup events through 4-H; |
|
answering his country's call to duty, Mr. Frier has enlisted to |
|
serve as a nuclear officer in the United States Navy; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Thomas Frier has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates at |
|
Oglesby High, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, |
|
and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless |
|
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Thomas Ray-Daniel Frier on being |
|
named salutatorian of the Oglesby High School Class of 2013 and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins |
|
the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Frier as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
