R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The American Cancer Society Relay for Life event on |
|
|
April 26, 2013, at the Silsbee High School football stadium was a |
|
|
great success, thanks in large part to the work of organizer Nancy |
|
|
Neel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, More than 500 participants on 32 teams joined the |
|
|
Hardin/South Jasper County Relay for Life to help raise funds for |
|
|
the American Cancer Society, with additional assistance being |
|
|
provided by corporate sponsors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each relay begins with a survivor lap for those |
|
|
celebrating a victory over cancer, as well as a caregiver lap to |
|
|
honor those who have cared for cancer patients; participating teams |
|
|
then keep at least one member on the track for the duration of the |
|
|
event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By engaging people from all walks of life in this |
|
|
worthwhile cause, Nancy Neel has made an important contribution in |
|
|
the fight against cancer, and her efforts are indeed deserving of |
|
|
recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Nancy Neel for organizing the 2013 Relay |
|
|
for Life event in Silsbee and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Neel as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
