R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
death of Samantha Jane Levins of Spurger, who passed away on May 1, |
|
|
2013, at the age of 89; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Johnny and Alice Winkle, "Dimp" |
|
|
Levins was a lifelong Spurger resident and grew up in a family of 10 |
|
|
children; she shared a rewarding marriage with her husband, Corbett |
|
|
"Red" Levins, who preceded her in death; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Levins treasured her family, which included |
|
|
two children and their spouses, J. C. Levins and his wife, Barbara, |
|
|
and Cecelia Odom and her husband, Larry, as well as five |
|
|
grandchildren, Chad, Kim, Kristie, Lee, and Donald, and eight |
|
|
great-grandchildren, Hawk, Cheyenne, Dakota, Kaitlyn, Kamryn, |
|
|
Randall, Sidney, and Reece; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dimp Levins |
|
|
will be deeply missed, but she leaves her loved ones with countless |
|
|
memories of the happy times they spent in her company; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Samantha Jane Levins |
|
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
|
children, J. C. Levins and his wife, Barbara, and Cecelia Odom and |
|
|
her husband, Larry; to her sisters, Madoline Minter and Geraldine |
|
|
Norvell; to her grandchildren, Chad Odom and his wife, Kim, Kim |
|
|
Odom, Kristie Marcum and her husband, Brent, and Lee Bennett; to her |
|
|
great-grandchildren, Hawk, Cheyenne, and Dakota Bennett, Kaitlyn |
|
|
and Kamryn Odom, and Randall, Sidney, and Reece Marcum; and to her |
|
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Samantha |
|
|
Jane "Dimp" Levins. |
