R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A one year wedding anniversary marks the beginning |
|
of a lifetime of love, mutual devotion, and shared experiences, and |
|
Manuel Antonio Gonzalez IV and Andrea Gloria Chytil Gonzalez of |
|
Austin are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
May 25, 2013; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez first met serendipitously at |
|
The University of Texas at Austin, where they were both employees |
|
and both students; Mr. Gonzalez was pursuing his doctorate in |
|
education administration and Mrs. Gonzalez was pursuing her |
|
master's degree in the same field; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez proposed to Ms. Chytil in Washington, |
|
D.C., in the Red Room of the East Wing of the White House on July 22, |
|
2011, with the help of coworkers, interns, and secret service |
|
officers, during his tenure with President Barack Obama's Domestic |
|
Policy Council; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez were joined in matrimony on |
|
May 25, 2012, by their colleague and dear friend, Lovelys Powell, on |
|
a perfect summer evening in Mercury Hall in South Austin; and |
|
WHEREAS, The bride is the daughter of Gary and Jolene Chytil |
|
and Nancy Bacon and retired Lieutenant Colonel Peter Bacon; the |
|
groom's parents are Manuel Gonzalez III and Odelia "Lily" |
|
Garza-Gonzalez; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much continues to change in the world, this |
|
devoted husband and wife will always remain constant in their |
|
commitment to each other, and the strength of their love will enable |
|
them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and |
|
optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Manuel and Andrea Gonzalez on the |
|
joyous occasion of their first wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
them sincere best wishes for a lifetime of happiness; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
