R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
|
significant honor by Patrick Norman of Bedford also heralds a |
|
|
future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An eighth-grade student at Harwood Junior High |
|
|
School, this fine young Texan has mastered a number of important |
|
|
skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit |
|
|
badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, |
|
|
personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained |
|
|
experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle |
|
|
Scout project, which involved building a 220-foot-long cedar split |
|
|
rail fence around a garden at St. Michael Catholic Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Norman is a valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. |
|
|
250, for which his father, Weldon Norman, serves as committee |
|
|
chair; he has held a number of leadership posts in the troop and is |
|
|
also a strong student and skilled athlete; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Patrick Norman has demonstrated |
|
|
an unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and |
|
|
the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will |
|
|
indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Norman on achieving the |
|
|
prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Norman as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
