R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Jerry Garner was named Citizen of the Year by the |
|
|
Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce at the organization's annual |
|
|
banquet on April 15, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has served for many years as |
|
|
chief of the Lindale Volunteer Fire Department, selflessly giving |
|
|
of his time to protect the safety of area residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his community, |
|
|
Jerry Garner has always been quick to lend a helping hand to those |
|
|
in need; together with his wife, he volunteers in behalf of senior |
|
|
citizens and works with the local Meals on Wheels program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his extensive civic endeavors, Jerry Garner |
|
|
has helped to make his community an even better place in which to |
|
|
live and work, and he may indeed take justifiable pride in his |
|
|
receipt of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry Garner on his selection as |
|
|
the 2013 Citizen of the Year by the Lindale Area Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Garner as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
