R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who give freely of their time and
  talents to benefit the larger community make the world a better
  place through their actions and their example, and Jarrod D. Smith
  of Danbury is one such person; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Brazoria County, Jarrod Smith
  was raised in Danbury and graduated from Danbury High School; he
  attended Alvin Community College, then earned degrees from the
  University of Houston-Clear Lake and the Thurgood Marshall School
  of Law at Texas Southern University; in 2007, he received his
  license from the State Bar of Texas and opened his law practice,
  which deals with a wide range of legal cases; he also works in the
  title insurance industry and partners as a fee attorney with the
  Alamo Title Company in Angleton and Alvin; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Smith gives generously of his time and talents
  in support of worthy causes throughout Brazoria County; a
  professional auctioneer, he has participated in more than 80 area
  auctions since 2012 alone and has helped to raise millions of
  dollars for local churches, schools, and nonprofit organizations;
  moreover, he serves on the board of commissioners for Brazoria
  County Emergency Services District No. 3, as well as on the board of
  the Alvin Community College Foundation and on the Downtown
  Revitalization Committee of the City of Angleton; in 2012, The
  Facts newspaper recognized this dynamic Texan as an "Unsung Hero"
  for his notable work in the area; in all his endeavors, Mr. Smith
  enjoys the love and support of his wife, Hayley, a dedicated mother
  who is devoting her energies to raising their four-year-old twins,
  Hannah and Madeline, and their one-and-a-half-year-old, Demi; the
  Smiths are active members of the Community Baptist Church of
  Danbury, and Mrs. Smith plays an instrumental role in the Youth and
  Children's Ministry; and
         WHEREAS, Through his inspiring and selfless endeavors,
  Jarrod Smith has demonstrated a lasting commitment to making
  Brazoria County an even better place in which to live and work, and
  in so doing, he has earned the deep respect and appreciation of his
  fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Jarrod D. Smith for his contributions to
  Brazoria County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Smith as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
