R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Octivia Marcel |
|
|
has ably served her fellow Texans as a legislative aide in the |
|
|
office of State Representative Roberto Alonzo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Marcel has contributed |
|
|
to the workings of state government firsthand; in addition to |
|
|
learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
|
citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable experience |
|
|
while tracking bills, gathering information at public hearings, and |
|
|
analyzing proposed legislation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exceptional student who ranked in the top four |
|
|
percent of her Eldorado High School class, Ms. Marcel is pursuing |
|
|
her bachelor's degree in political science and French and expects |
|
|
to graduate in May 2014 from Southwestern University, where she is |
|
|
also active in several campus organizations; outside her |
|
|
responsibilities at school, she has worked as a public relations |
|
|
intern and served as support staff for several firms engaged in |
|
|
improving public health; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Octivia Marcel for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Roberto |
|
|
Alonzo and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Marcel as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
