R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Barbara Jean Childress Witt of Woodville, who passed away on
  April 19, 2013, at the age of 79; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Jacksonville, the former Barbara
  Childress was born to Rupert and Ruby Childress on October 12, 1933;
  she was a member of the Campground Baptist Church and a former
  Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 298 in
  Silsbee; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan found a life partner in her
  husband, Charles Witt, with whom she enjoyed more than six decades,
  and the couple were blessed with three children; over the
  years, their family grew to include 12 grandchildren, 8
  great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; Mrs. Witt
  and her husband owned and operated Childress Monument Works in
  Woodville; and
         WHEREAS, Barbara Witt touched the lives of countless people
  during her time on this earth, and she leaves behind a legacy that
  will forever be treasured by all those who shared in her love and
  friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Barbara Jean
  Childress Witt and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Charles Witt; to her sons, Chuck and Curt
  Witt; to her daughter, Cindy Pratt, and her husband, Max; to her
  sister, Paula Niebur; to her grandchildren, Joy, Jean, Christen,
  and Trinity Witt, Rob, Michele, and Jana Georgas, Phillip Thompson,
  Julie Kriegel, Bruce and Jenna Chandler, and Newt Pratt; to her
  great-grandchildren, Taylor, Macy, and Aubery Witt, Caleb and
  Carleigh Kotrla, Alexis Haley, Coleton Kriegel, and Christopher
  Thompson; to her great-great-granddaughter, Cambrie Waggener; and
  to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
  Jean Childress Witt.
