R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Heather Meyer of Bedford is receiving the
  President's Youth Volunteer Service Award from the Colleyville
  Woman's Club at the 15th Annual Caring with Commitment Celebration
  Luncheon on May 23, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, After suffering a stroke at birth, Ms. Meyer worked
  to overcome physical weakness, learning differences, and dyslexia,
  and her own struggle has informed her volunteer work at Cook
  Children's Hospital, where she has helped with the book drive and
  created pillows, pillowcases, and lovies for babies in the neonatal
  intensive care unit; in addition, she has volunteered at the
  PediPlace pediatric clinic and at a local gym, helping young girls
  increase their self-confidence and develop a positive self-image;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Gary and Marci Meyer,
  this inspiring young woman is a junior at L. D. Bell High School in
  Hurst, where she is active as a cheerleader and member of the choir;
  and
         WHEREAS, Heather Meyer has demonstrated remarkable
  compassion and determination in assisting other young Texans, and
  she is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Heather Meyer on her receipt of the
  President's Youth Volunteer Service Award from the Colleyville
  Woman's Club and extend to her sincere best wishes for success and
  happiness in the years ahead; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Meyer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
