R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The staff of the Texas Municipal League in Austin
  bade farewell to an esteemed colleague and dear friend on March 8,
  2013, when Laurie Dodson retired after more than 20 years of
  service; and
         WHEREAS, The former city secretary of Duncanville, Ms. Dodson
  was a longtime member of the Texas Municipal League before joining
  the organization's staff in 1991 as controller; with her subsequent
  appointment to the position of director of administrative services,
  she helped to expand the administrative department during a
  transformative period for the league and its staff, data system,
  and office location; nearly a decade into her tenure with TML, she
  took on new duties as the information services coordinator before
  ultimately settling into the role of member services coordinator in
  2006; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Dodson found great fulfillment in her
  responsibilities managing Texas Town & City, TML's magazine, along
  with her work with surveys, specialized research and reports,
  directories, and advertising space; she also enjoyed getting to
  know many elected city officials and other TML members along the
  way; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed professional earned the respect and
  admiration of her colleagues for her expertise, work ethic, and
  resourcefulness; as the Annie Laurie ventures into retirement, she
  will be surrounded by her loving family and friends, including her
  husband, Captain Dan, her four children, Fred, Dick, Lance, and
  Cheryl, the entire Captain Dan tailgate extravaganza, and, last but
  not least, the sweetest granddaughter on earth, Raegan Anne, also
  known as the Mini Annie Laurie; and
         WHEREAS, Laurie Dodson demonstrated great skill and
  dedication in all her endeavors with the Texas Municipal League,
  and she may indeed take pride in her many years of outstanding
  service as she looks forward to the next exciting chapter of her
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Laurie Dodson on her retirement
  from the Texas Municipal League and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dodson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
