R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kendall Gould of Mineola Elementary School was named
  Kiwanis Teacher of the Year at the Mineola Chamber of Commerce's
  annual awards banquet on April 6, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Gould earned her bachelor's degree from Texas
  A&M University in College Station and her master's degree in
  educational administration from A&M--Commerce; she holds lifetime
  certificates in English as a second language and in regular
  education, as well as a Texas principal's certification; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding educator began her career 21 years
  ago in Galena Park, where she earned a "Rookie of the Year" award
  from the local school district, and she later taught in Pasadena
  Independent School District for three years; for the past 15 years,
  she has taught fourth grade in Mineola, where she also actively
  contributes to the leadership team that coordinates programs and
  policies for the school; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Gould's natural abilities as a leader and an
  innovator in the classroom have inspired her students and earned
  her the lasting respect of her fellow teachers, and she is indeed
  worthy of this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kendall Gould of Mineola
  Elementary School for being named Kiwanis Teacher of the Year and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Gould as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
