R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Daughters of World War II has rendered
  invaluable service to veterans, their families, and the greater
  public through its many patriotic endeavors; and
         WHEREAS, Created by Laura Leppert and Deborah Guerriero,
  whose fathers both served in Nagasaki, the Daughters of World War II
  was launched on Veterans Day 2010; the group seeks to honor veterans
  of World War II by preserving their memories, raising awareness of
  their contributions, and supporting them; as many World War II
  veterans are getting older, it becomes increasingly important to
  gather and share their stories so that we and later generations may
  learn from them and truly appreciate their valor and patriotism;
  and
         WHEREAS, The organization has hosted a number of events to
  express appreciation to veterans and to educate the public; in
  addition to Veterans Day observances, it has hosted authors,
  screened movies, and commemorated Victory in Europe (V-E) and
  Victory over Japan (V-J) Days; and
         WHEREAS, By forming this unique organization, the members of
  the Daughters of World War II have demonstrated a notable
  commitment to American history, and Texans will benefit from their
  achievements for generations to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Daughters of World War II for its
  efforts to preserve American history and extend to its members
  sincere best wishes for continued success with their important
  efforts; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
