R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cristi Parsons of Hallsville North Elementary
  School has been selected as the 2013 National Distinguished
  Principal for the State of Texas by the Texas Elementary Principals
  and Supervisors Association; and
         WHEREAS, The highest honor principals can receive from their
  peers, the National Distinguished Principals program was
  established in 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of
  Elementary School Principals and is supported by Mentoring Minds in
  Texas; award winners have met exacting criteria, which include
  guiding programs that address the academic and social needs of all
  students, setting high expectations, maintaining an orderly,
  purposeful learning environment, building strong relationships
  with parents and local businesses, and playing an active role in the
  community; and
         WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Mrs. Parsons has led
  Hallsville North Elementary with distinction since its opening in
  2011 and previously served the district as principal of Hallsville
  Intermediate School; she has been active with Hallsville's
  Professional Learning Community Model and oversaw the
  implementation of the school's Response to Intervention initiative
  in the classroom; before coming to Hallsville, this dynamic
  educator and administrator taught in Carrollton-Farmers Branch
  Independent School District and at Colleyville Elementary School
  and was a counselor at Pine Tree Elementary School in Longview and
  Caldwell Elementary Arts Academy in Tyler, where she was appointed
  assistant principal; dedicated to her community, she is a graduate
  of Hallsville High School and has two children who attend school in
  the district; and
         WHEREAS, For nearly two decades, Cristi Parsons has made a
  positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans with her
  steadfast commitment to excellence, and she has contributed greatly
  to the quality of education in the Lone Star State; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Cristi Parsons on her selection as
  the 2013 National Distinguished Principal for the State of Texas by
  the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Parsons as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
