R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Daniel Voss of Georgetown is serving as the |
|
|
Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on May 15, 2013, and he is |
|
|
to be commended for his participation in this time-honored |
|
|
tradition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1971, this program has provided for a |
|
|
volunteer physician to be on call each day of a legislative session |
|
|
to offer medical assistance to legislators and support staff; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Voss is certified by the American Board of |
|
|
Family Medicine; he earned his medical degree from The University |
|
|
of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency at |
|
|
John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth; he is currently employed by |
|
|
the Georgetown Medical Clinic and serves as an assistant clinical |
|
|
professor at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in |
|
|
Round Rock; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A member of the Texas and American Academies of |
|
|
Family Physicians and the Texas Medical Association, Dr. Voss is |
|
|
also a member of the Christian Medical Association and is active in |
|
|
his church; despite his demanding schedule, he enjoys hunting and |
|
|
tennis and part-time ranching; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Voss has built an admirable career by devoting |
|
|
himself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure |
|
|
to honor him for his service at the State Capitol; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize Dr. Daniel Voss for his contributions |
|
|
to the medical profession and commend him for his generous service |
|
|
to the Texas Legislature as Physician of the Day; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Voss as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
