R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Weronika Konwent is graduating as the salutatorian |
|
|
of the senior class of Hamilton High School on June 2, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Ms. |
|
|
Konwent demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of |
|
|
subjects, and she completed her high school years with a grade point |
|
|
average of 97.643; she is bilingual in English and Polish, and she |
|
|
has studied Spanish and Latin; moreover, she demonstrated |
|
|
exceptional initiative in arranging to take online Advanced |
|
|
Placement courses in calculus, statistics, English, economics, and |
|
|
government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Active in a number of extracurricular programs, Ms. |
|
|
Konwent has been a member of the band and has participated in solo |
|
|
and ensemble competition at the state level; she has served as |
|
|
president, vice president, and treasurer of the student council; |
|
|
moreover, she ran varsity cross-country in her freshman and |
|
|
sophomore years, and she has played golf and tennis as well; she has |
|
|
performed nearly 300 hours of community service as a member of the |
|
|
National Honor Society and in the course of qualifying for a number |
|
|
of Congressional Award Silver Medals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Artur and Barbara |
|
|
Konwent, Weronika Konwent has earned the respect and admiration of |
|
|
her teachers and classmates at Hamilton High School, and her |
|
|
exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence have surely opened the way to limitless opportunities |
|
|
for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Weronika Konwent on being named |
|
|
salutatorian of the Hamilton High School Class of 2013 and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Konwent as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
