R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jacqueline Rose Eber of Houston retired from the
  Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on January 18, 2013, after
  more than three decades of outstanding service; and
         WHEREAS, Born in New York, Jackie Eber graduated from
  Stranahan High School in Florida and served in the United States Air
  Force; after her time in the military, she enrolled at The
  University of Texas at San Antonio, where she graduated with a
  degree in accounting; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Eber began her career in state government in
  the Comptroller's Audit Division in 1982; since then, she has
  served four different comptrollers in her tenure with the agency,
  and she has performed a number of important audits and refunds for
  taxpayers and industries as a member of the Houston North Audit
  Office; in her retirement, she will have more time to travel and
  work in ceramics; and
         WHEREAS, Jackie Eber's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of
  Texas, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent
  as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jacqueline Rose Eber on her
  retirement from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Eber as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
