R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Lisa Marie Rivera has been named salutatorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2013 at Copperas Cove High School, and for achieving this |
|
|
significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Douglass Allen and |
|
|
Bokhee Rivera, Lisa Rivera has distinguished herself in both |
|
|
academics and extracurricular activities at Copperas Cove High |
|
|
School; she has participated in the National Honor Society, student |
|
|
council, and the Health Occupations Students of America, and was |
|
|
named an Advanced Placement scholar; in addition, she is a master |
|
|
diver and certified rescue diver; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Rivera has received both a Navy ROTC and a Terry |
|
|
Foundation scholarship; she plans to study biochemistry at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Austin and to eventually attend medical |
|
|
school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Lisa Marie Rivera |
|
|
has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and |
|
|
classmates at Copperas Cove High, and her exceptional scholastic |
|
|
ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the |
|
|
way to limitless opportunities for this outstanding young Texan; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lisa Marie Rivera, salutatorian of |
|
|
the Copperas Cove High School Class of 2013, and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Rivera as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
