R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Deborah Johnston of the Grand Prairie branch of the
  YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas received a 2012 Sam Winstead Volunteer
  of the Year Award at the annual meeting of the association on April
  11, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented every year to a
  volunteer at each branch of the Dallas YMCA who has demonstrated
  exceptional commitment to a program or has helped further the goals
  of the YMCA in his or her community; and
         WHEREAS, Deborah Johnston has been volunteering with the YMCA
  since she was a sophomore in high school, when she coached
  basketball; she and her husband, Stuart, have been members of the Y
  for 20 years, and during that time she has coached basketball,
  soccer, T-ball, and baseball; Ms. Johnston has also served on the
  Sports and Executive Search Committees and as chair of the Building
  and Grounds Committee; a member of the Grand Prairie board for the
  past decade, she led the group as chair during 2011 and 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Through her exemplary service to the Grand Prairie
  Family YMCA, Deborah Johnston has greatly benefited her community
  and demonstrated her support of the organization's goals of youth
  development, healthy living, and social responsibility; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Deborah Johnston on receiving a
  2012 Sam Winstead Volunteer of the Year Award and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Johnston as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
