R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Deborah Johnston of the Grand Prairie branch of the |
|
|
YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas received a 2012 Sam Winstead Volunteer |
|
|
of the Year Award at the annual meeting of the association on April |
|
|
11, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is presented every year to a |
|
|
volunteer at each branch of the Dallas YMCA who has demonstrated |
|
|
exceptional commitment to a program or has helped further the goals |
|
|
of the YMCA in his or her community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deborah Johnston has been volunteering with the YMCA |
|
|
since she was a sophomore in high school, when she coached |
|
|
basketball; she and her husband, Stuart, have been members of the Y |
|
|
for 20 years, and during that time she has coached basketball, |
|
|
soccer, T-ball, and baseball; Ms. Johnston has also served on the |
|
|
Sports and Executive Search Committees and as chair of the Building |
|
|
and Grounds Committee; a member of the Grand Prairie board for the |
|
|
past decade, she led the group as chair during 2011 and 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her exemplary service to the Grand Prairie |
|
|
Family YMCA, Deborah Johnston has greatly benefited her community |
|
|
and demonstrated her support of the organization's goals of youth |
|
|
development, healthy living, and social responsibility; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Deborah Johnston on receiving a |
|
|
2012 Sam Winstead Volunteer of the Year Award and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Johnston as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
