R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sandra K. Voelker is retiring as a team leader with |
|
|
the Teacher Retirement System of Texas in 2013, concluding a |
|
|
notable career in public service that has spanned 43 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Named a team leader with TRS in 1987, Ms. Voelker has |
|
|
provided skilled and effective guidance to her colleagues and |
|
|
recorded many accomplishments during her tenure, including |
|
|
contributing to a 61 percent increase in the number of retirement |
|
|
setups completed over the past 12 years; in addition, she ensured |
|
|
that her section met all standards required by the Legislative |
|
|
Budget Board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Manor, Ms. Voelker has also |
|
|
given generously of her time and talents to her community; she has |
|
|
volunteered for 20 years with the Travis County Livestock Show and |
|
|
Rodeo and the annual Cowboy Breakfast in Austin, enthusiastically |
|
|
supported athletics in the Manor Independent School District, and |
|
|
taught vacation Bible school and Sunday school at her church for a |
|
|
dozen years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The wife of Stan Voelker, Sandra Voelker is the |
|
|
mother of three children, Scott, Stacey, and Steven, and a devoted |
|
|
"Nana" to two grandchildren, Blythe Anne and Adelie Claire; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This accomplished Texan has dedicated more than four |
|
|
decades to serving her fellow citizens, and she may indeed reflect |
|
|
with pride on her wide-ranging achievements and contributions as |
|
|
she looks forward to the next exciting chapter of her life; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Sandra K. Voelker on her retirement as a |
|
|
team leader with the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Voelker as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
