R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Betty Alice Robbins of Spicewood, who passed away on September
  14, 2012, at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, The former Betty Day was born in Dallas  on October
  19, 1930, to Pete and Margie Day; she graduated from Sunset High
  School in 1947 and attended Austin Community College; she worked
  for a time at Natural Systems Laboratory and also served on the
  staff for the Texas Legislature; an active volunteer, she
  contributed her time and talents to the Capital Area Council of
  Governments Aging Advisory Council and to the Edgewater Beach
  Neighborhood Planning Association, which honored her with a Good
  Neighbor Award; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of faith, Mrs. Robbins was a valued member
  of Lakeway Church, and she supported the work of several charitable
  organizations; among her favorite pastimes were swimming, reading,
  and traveling, and she liked to meet new people and make friends;
  above all, she treasured her family, which included her husband,
  Gene, and her children, Marian and Brian; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Betty Robbins
  will remember the way she touched their lives with her warmth and
  kindness, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Betty Alice Robbins
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband, Gene Robbins; to her children, Marian Culpepper and her
  husband, Joel, and Brian Robbins and his wife, Jasmina; to her
  grandchildren, Tim Culpepper and his wife, Liz, Adam Culpepper,
  Penny Platt, and Aida Drljevic; to her seven great-grandchildren;
  and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Betty
  Robbins.
