R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Felix and Yolanda
  Landin of Corpus Christi are celebrating this joyous milestone in
  their marriage on May 24, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Felix Landin and the former Yolanda Martinez were
  joined in matrimony in Corpus Christi on that special day in 1963;
  they became the parents of four children, Felix, Aldo, Alex, and
  Erica, and with the passing years, their family grew to include five
  grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A veteran of the National Guard, Mr. Landin worked
  for Wilcox Furniture before he and Mrs. Landin opened their own
  children's store, Lollipop, in Brownsville; Mr. Landin also owned
  and operated the Landin Insurance Agency from 1982 to 1992, and he
  later worked for several area funeral homes as a manager and as a
  family service counselor; in addition, he has been involved in
  civic affairs, having served as a Nueces County commissioner and on
  the Tuloso-Midway Independent School District Board of Trustees;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Landin was appointed by the county
  commissioners to the position of Precinct 34 judge, and she served
  in that capacity for more than a decade; while her children were in
  school, she was an active member of the Tuloso-Midway PTA, and
  she  has continued to volunteer her time to a local literary
  organization to promote children's literacy; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Landin have enjoyed half a century of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Felix and Yolanda Landin on their
  golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Landin as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
