R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lindsey London of Driscoll has been named a winner
  in the 2013 Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest
  sponsored by the Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach program;
  and
         WHEREAS, This annual competition encourages Texas
  schoolchildren to learn about the Texas coast and express their
  knowledge through art; out of the nearly 3,400 entries this year, 40
  works were selected to receive top honors, and winning entries will
  be featured in the 2014 Adopt-A-Beach calendar; and
         WHEREAS, Lindsey London is a second-grade student at Driscoll
  Elementary School; her exceptional work, one of 10 pieces selected
  in the Grades K-2 category, earned her a number of prizes, including
  a ticket to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi and passes to
  Schlitterbahn Waterpark; and
         WHEREAS, This unique competition inspires creativity and
  environmental awareness among Texas youngsters, and Miss London may
  indeed take great pride in placing among the contest's winners;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lindsey London on her selection as
  a winner in the 2013 Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art
  Contest and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Miss London as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
