R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Rachel Kaplan of Robstown was honored with a |
|
|
scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show |
|
|
Association on May 7, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people |
|
|
who have distinguished themselves through their participation in |
|
|
the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in |
|
|
January; using proceeds raised at that event, scholarship awards |
|
|
totaling $67,000 were presented to area high school seniors based |
|
|
on a range of criteria, including academic achievement, college |
|
|
readiness, and membership in FFA, 4-H, or Family, Career and |
|
|
Community Leaders of America programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Kevin and Carol Kaplan, Rachel |
|
|
Kaplan is graduating from Calallen High School and looks forward to |
|
|
pursuing a degree in agricultural communications and journalism at |
|
|
Texas A&M University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan is a source of great |
|
|
pride to her family, and the talent, aptitude, and drive that she |
|
|
has demonstrated will serve her well in all her future endeavors; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Rachel Kaplan on her receipt of a |
|
|
2013 scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show |
|
|
Association and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Kaplan as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
