R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Janell Rochelle has done an outstanding job of |
|
coaching the Business Professionals of America participants from |
|
the Paducah Independent School District, and her guidance helped |
|
the students to make a fine showing at the BPA National Leadership |
|
Conference, held May 8 through 12, 2013, in Orlando, Florida; and |
|
WHEREAS, One of the leading career and technical student |
|
organizations in the country, BPA prepares middle and high school |
|
students for careers in business management, office |
|
administration, information technology, and related fields; this |
|
unique program helps students to gain the necessary skills to |
|
become engaged citizens and leaders in the 21st century workplace; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rochelle, who holds a bachelor of business |
|
administration degree in marketing from Baylor University and a |
|
master's degree from North Texas State University, has been an |
|
instructor with Paducah ISD for 33 years and has served as BPA |
|
advisor for 28 years; under her direction, more than 100 students |
|
have qualified for national contests, with one team placing first, |
|
three teams placing second, and one team placing third; and |
|
WHEREAS, By equipping her students with the tools they need |
|
to reach their career goals, Janell Rochelle has enriched the lives |
|
of many young Texans and has contributed to the quality of education |
|
in her community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Janell Rochelle for her outstanding work |
|
as coach of the Business Professionals of America students from the |
|
Paducah ISD and congratulate her on the group's fine showing at the |
|
2013 BPA National Leadership Conference; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Rochelle as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
